Sakura

Sakura Restaurant & Bar is housed in Exchange Flags, a stunning location right in the centre of Liverpool’s commercial district. Sakura provides a superlative level of Japanese cuisine within contemporary surroundings.

Our brief was to design a showcase website for Sakura that has the ‘wow’ factor and would give visitors to the site a feel for the exceptional interior design. Due to the regularly changing dishes on the menu Sakura wanted full control of their content including menus, news, events as well as integrating a reservation system that was synchronised with the restaurant diary.

Our Response

In order to provide visitors with the best perspective of the restaurant we provided art direction for the photographer and produced a series of animated sequences to give the effect of someone panning round the restaurant, mimicking a 3D environment. We also built the site with WordPress CMS so that staff at Sakura can log-in to add news, update content, videos and photos, as well as change the menu as often as needed without incurring any further costs.

The Result

This project provided an excellent opportunity to produce a stunning series of animated sequences for each area of the restaurant. By manipulating and stitching the photography, we created the effect of a virtual camera through the images giving the appearance of a true 3D space, which made Sakura’s new website both unique and visually impressive. Once trained, the staff are now able to fully manage the content and menus allowing them to populate the site with regular offers and events.
