Adam Davis – Director of Digital Strategy
Adam has been involved with web design and development since 1997. In his early years he worked for large agencies in London and Manchester, as well as UKIP Internet Consultants (one of the first ISPs in the UK).
As his knowledge of web design and web development progressed, his reputation in the industry grew. This status allowed him to switch to freelancing for brands directly, and this period saw him work with Virgin, Sony, Bradford & Bingley, Warner Brothers, and dozens of startups.
In 2005 he launched Soap Media with his brother Markerle. The intention was to create a results driven digital agency, and the advent of social media, paid search marketing, and analytics presented a unique opportunity to guarantee results within cost per acquisition targets for clients. He is passionate about delivering value to all our clients and has a genuine love of the industry.
Adam specialises in helping businesses get smarter with their website strategies, and provides futureproof, forward thinking web design and development solutions. His work has included some of the UK’s most recognisable companies, representing clients such as American Golf, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Booths Supermarkets, and The AA, as well as many Councils and Educational institutions.
Asides from client work, Adam has been actively giving back to the local community. Along with apprenticeship programmes, Adam founded Lancashire Digital with six other agencies to assist with developing key policies across the industry, including a code of conduct, recruitment, training, and promoting awareness of the digital sector. Lancashire Digital achieves this through a mixture of events, workshops, and engagement with both academia and Lancashire businesses.
He is a Google Certified Professional and actively speaks at local academic institutions and business seminars.
Markerle Davis – Managing Director
Markerle got his start in digital marketing back in 1999 managing affiliate, email, PPC, and SEO strategies for one of the first ISPs in the UK. The ISP also owned one of the most prolific portfolios of .co.uk domain names with thousands of quality generic domains such as car.co.uk, england.co.uk, fashion.co.uk, and love.co.uk. Making best use of the domain traffic, Markerle was responsible for negotiating co-branded partnerships with companies such as MSN, Yahoo, Autotrader, AOL, and many other large internet properties.
He also ran a series of successful affiliate programmes and was responsible for creating joint ventures and monetising the domain traffic through highly sophisticated marketing campaigns. This opportunity provided a wealth of experience planning and managing a variety of digital marketing channels and initiatives in highly competitive B2C and B2B industries.
During this time, he was fortunate enough to travel to many of the world’s leading search engine conferences, pressing the flesh of the great and good at all the major search engine headquarters. This allowed Markerle to gain valuable insights and experience with the best in the business.
In 2005, following a seven-year spell with the ISP, Markerle launched Soap Media with his brother Adam. The company has since carved out a reputation as a leader in digital marketing and has represented hundreds of national and international brands.
Markerle helps businesses find the ideal business solution based on strategy and budget, with a focus on the user journey to generate excellent returns and loyal customers. Over the past two years he has developed and sculpted a performance based model which differentiates the company from the majority of digital agencies. The business model has been especially developed to help drive the evolution of the digital agency sector as a whole.
Markerle’s vision for the agency is to deliver an accountable and sustainable way for clients to engage our services without the uncertainty of working with an agency that models its fees solely on time and percentage of spend.
